S1 – INFORMATION

How I use your information

As part of the purchasing and selling process when you purchase something from my store, I gather the personal data you provide to me, such as your name, address, and email address.

I also automatically acquire your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address when you visit my store, which gives me knowledge about your operating system and browser.

If appropriate, I may market to you via email by informing you of new products, store changes, and other things with your consent.

S2 – CONSENT

How I get your consent

Your permission to my collection and use of your personal information for that specific purpose alone is implied when you give me your personal information to complete a transaction, validate your credit card, fill out an order, schedule a delivery, or return a purchase.

If I need your personal information for a secondary purpose—such as marketing—I will either formally request your express approval or give you the choice to decline.

How to withdraw your consent
You can withdraw your consent for me to contact you, for the continued collecting, use, or sharing of your information, at any time by contacting me at the following address: support@janetlondon.ca.

S3 – DISCLOSURE

If I am required to do so by law or if you break my Terms of Service, I may expose your personal data.

S4 – DATA & DATABASES

My store is hosted on DreamHost, built with WordPress and powered by Woocommerce. They provide us with the online platforms that allows me to sell my products and services to you.

Your data is stored through my data storage and databases. I store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment

I use Square to process credit cards payments. If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Square stores your credit card data. It is encrypted.

The technical security controls and processes that make up Square’s security program are audited by external third parties.

S5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party service providers I work with will only gather, use, and disclose your information as much as is required to carry out the services I’ve hired them to do.

However, some third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with regard to the data I must give them for transactions involving your purchases.

I advise you to read the privacy policies for these service providers so you are aware of how your personal information will be handled by them.

Keep in mind that certain providers can be based in or have facilities in a different jurisdiction than either you or I. Your information may so become governed by the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which the third-party service provider or its facilities are situated if you decide to move forward with a transaction that involves their services.

Your personal information used to complete the transaction, for instance, may be susceptible to disclosure under US law, such as the Patriot Act, if you are situated in Canada and the transaction is completed by a payment gateway in the US.

You are no longer subject to this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service after you leave my store’s website or are transferred to a website or application operated by a third party.

Links on my store may take you away from my website when you click on them. I recommend reading the privacy policies of other websites because I cannot be held liable for their data collection practises.

S6 – SECURITY

I follow industry best practises and take reasonable efforts to prevent your personal information from being improperly lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or deleted.

If you provide your credit card details, they will be stored securely by Square.

S7 – COOKIES

Here is a list of cookies that I use. I listed them here so you that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.

mailchimp_landing_site: 1 month duration, MailChimp sets the cookie to record which page the user first visited.

_p_hfp_client_id: Less than a minute duration, Elfsight sets this cookie to implement social platforms on the website and enables the social platforms to track the users by assigning them a specific ID.

elementor: no duration, The website’s WordPress theme uses this cookie. It allows the website owner to implement or change the website’s content in real-time.

ts_cc: 1 year 1 month 4 days duration, PayPal sets this cookie to make safe payments through PayPal.

enforce_policy: 1 year duration, PayPal sets this cookie for secure transactions.

LANG: 9 hours duration, Linkedin set this cookie to set user’s preferred language.

tsrce: for the duration of the session, PayPal sets this cookie to process payments on the site.

l7_az: 30 minutes duration, This cookie is necessary for the PayPal login function on the website.

ts: 1 year 1 month 4 days duration, PayPal sets this cookie to enable secure transactions through PayPal.

Some cookies might be missing from this list and will be added as soon as possible.

S8 – AGE OF CONSENT

By using this site, you certify that you are at least the legal age of majority in the state or province in which you reside, or that you are of legal age in that jurisdiction and have granted me permission to permit any of your minor dependents to use this site.

S9 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Please check it often as I retain the right to change this privacy statement at any moment. Changes and clarifications will be effective right away once they are posted online. If I make any significant changes to this policy, I will let you know here so that you are aware of what data I collect, how I use it, and, if applicable, under what conditions I use and/or disclose it.

Your information might be given to the new owners of my store if I sell it or combine it with another business so that I can keep selling you goods.
